History of Academic Lodges

Nearly two hundred years ago, the Academic Lodge tradition began at Oxford University.  This was followed shortly by Cambridge University.  In the United States, Harvard Lodge took the lead, being established in 1922, with MIT and Boston University Lodges coming thereafter.

In the Mid-Atlantic area, The Colonial Lodge began in 2009, followed by The Patriot in 2011, and several more thereafter.  Several states are now beginning Academic Lodges, to include New York at Columbia University and the City University of New York (CUNY).  We hope you will be the next University to join this group!
